Serangoon Garden Terrace
50 SHADES OF GREY
This modern contemporary home was commissioned by a successful couple in insurance and their two children to reflect their stylish personalities. A monochrome palette played against the use of textures such as marble and wall panellings create a soothing home to come to.
In the Spotlight:
In the living room that leads into the dining room, a feature wall was created using Luxx New House large format Italian Didio marble wall cladding to give it a continuous marble grain look, but also elongate the space to suit the natural flow of the house.
A second feature wall of random lines was created at the end of the dining room where a dry kitchen sits. If you think it is simply for aesthetic purposes, look again. Tucked behind this feature wall is also a staggered storage compartment, 2 hidden doorways leading to the kitchen and powder room respectively, and a built-in Bosch fridge, giving the space a minimalistic and uncluttered perfect illusion of a wall.
The basement also houses the couple’s KTV room. As far as the stars go, the designer has also mimicked the night sky with VLUX blinking star lights to send your vocals soaring with emotions.
